As the Executive Head of Information Systems Audit at the Auditor General South Africa, Mrs. Harper-Valentine holds a pivotal role, overseeing the IT audit function across all government entities in South Africa. With a solid foundation as a qualified chartered accountant, she brings over 15 years of extensive experience in the financial and IT audit field.

Commencing her professional journey at EY in South Africa, Mrs. Harper-Valentine completed her articles and subsequently transitioned to the IT audit function in 2011. Over the course of a decade, she broadened her expertise by working in the USA and UK during her tenure at EY. Her professional footprint extends across diverse sectors, including Banking, Hospitality and Casino, Mining, Retail, Manufacturing, and Government.

A recognised authority in her field, Mrs. Harper-Valentine has shared her insights at various forums, including her recent participation in WGITA (Working Group on IT Audit), held in Abu Dhabi in December 2022. Notably, she contributes to the global community as a mentor on LOTA (Leveraging on Technology Advancement), guiding IT auditors and strategists worldwide.

In addition to her Chartered Accountant (SA) qualification, Mrs. Harper-Valentine holds prestigious certifications through ISACA, including CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) and CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Controls). Her commitment to professional excellence is evident in her multifaceted skills and her dedication to advancing the field of IT audit on a global scale.
